Yesterday, 5th June, coinciding with World Environment Day, Ignacio Blanco, President & CEO of Univergy Solar;<\/strong> Julio Hidalgo,<\/strong> Development Manager of the Hydrogen Division and Ismael Prieto,<\/strong> Hydrogen Project Manager, participate in the conference on “The energy transition of ports: improving their environmental integration”.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This meeting, organised within the framework of the PORTOS project<\/strong> (Ports towards energy self-sufficiency) and financed by the European Interreg Atlantic Area call, aims to evaluate, develop and promote the integrated use of renewable energy resources in ports of the Atlantic Area.<\/p>\n

During this day, we took part in a round table in which we talked about decarbonisation in ports<\/strong> and the relevance of turning them into energy hubs to achieve it, highlighting the vision of Univergy<\/a> to integrate various renewable energy generation technologies<\/strong> and their accumulation using different energy vectors such as hydrogen or its derivatives ammonia and methanol.<\/p>\n

The event ended with a visit to the “Nautilus”.<\/strong> One of the projects within the “Blue Growth” strategy of the port of Vigo framed within the “Living Ports” programme,<\/strong> in which they explained how certain construction materials in the port area can contribute to the development of autochthonous species in their adapted natural environment.<\/p>\n

This meeting brought together representatives of the port community who, together with the Regional Minister Rosa Quintana, wanted to show this union in favour of the environment<\/strong> on the occasion of the conference “The energy transition of the ports: improving their environmental integration”.<\/p>\n
