The electric motor is responsible for propelling the vehicle, while the internal combustion engine works as a generator.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Plug-in hybrids (PHEVs):<\/strong> These hybrid cars feature a larger battery that can be recharged by plugging it into an external electricity source. They can operate in all-electric mode for short distances before switching to the internal combustion engine or combining the two for longer range.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Micro-hybrids or mild hybrids:<\/strong> These vehicles feature an automatic internal combustion engine start-stop system when the vehicle is stationary, as well as brake energy recovery technology, but do not have the ability to fully electric propulsion.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">One of the main <strong>benefits of hybrid cars<\/strong> is that they reduce greenhouse gas emissions, unlike traditional cars, which emit a large amount of carbon dioxide and other pollutants into the air.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Many hybrid cars use technologies such as braking regeneration, which converts <a href=\"https:\/\/concepto.de\/energia-cinetica\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">kinetic energy<\/a> into electricity during braking and deceleration, to recharge the battery. This means that <strong>less energy is wasted<\/strong> in the form of heat during the braking process, which improves the overall efficiency of the vehicle.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The popularity of hybrid cars has spurred the development of <strong>cleaner and more efficient technologies<\/strong> in the automotive industry as a whole.
