The “Salinetes I” Photovoltaic Solar Plant has an innovative technology that provides a productivity of more than 85%.
In the next few months, construction will begin on the “Rebentó” Photovoltaic Solar Plant in the municipality of Petrer, with a capacity of 4.7 MW.
Madrid, Alicante, May 17, 2022 – The Spanish-Japanese company Univergy Solar has completed the construction of the “Salinetes I” Photovoltaic Solar Plant in the municipality of Novelda, Alicante, which will have a clean energy generation capacity of almost 4.5 MW of power.
The completion of this project by Univergy Solar means the implementation in Novelda of the first of the projects to be developed in the area over the next two years, which will reach more than 50 MW.
The “Salinetes I” plant has been built with frameless bifacial modules that have innovative technological advantages rarely seen in Spain and that give the plant a greater performance capacity thanks to the functionality of its panels on both sides.
In addition, the structure with which the plant has been built is made up of continuous series with joint covers that absorb thermal expansions, with continuous tables of almost 200 meters, which maximize the use of space and achieve a ratio of installed power/surface area with a productivity of more than 84%. This structure is unique in Spain.
Francisco Martínez Alted, Mayor of Novelda said: “The “Salinetes I” renewable solar energy project represents two very important milestones for Novelda; on the one hand, having completed the first of a series of projects we have in the pipeline for the installation of more than 50MW of power; and on the other, fulfilling our commitment to make the municipality one of the benchmarks for clean energy in Alicante and the Valencian Community”.
Likewise, Jesús Candil, General Director of Industry said: “The Solar Plant “Salinetes I” of Novelda responds to the commitment of the municipality with the Plans for the Promotion of Renewable Energies of the Government for the Ecological Transition, so we congratulate the town for its next connection to the grid”. Ginés Martínez, vice-president of Univergy Solar, points out that “The completion of the “Salinetes I” project in Novelda represents the consolidation of Univergy Solar’s projects in Spain, which continues its expansion with the start of construction of the 4.7 MW “Rebentó” project in the municipality of Petrer”.
In this way, Univergy Solar continues with the national development process consolidating its leadership in the Spanish and European market.
