Madrid, Tokyo, June 15th, 2021. – The Spanish-Japanese group Univergy Solar has selected Lazard Financial Advisors to search for a strategic partner that will allow it to implement its strategic plan and drive the growth of its clean energy projects worldwide.

Founded in 2012 and with its main offices in Madrid and Tokyo, Univergy Solar is a group of companies specialized in renewable energy, specifically the development, construction and operation of solar and wind projects, including storage and green hydrogen solutions.
As a leading company with a strong track record and international presence, it is established in 16 countries and manages a portfolio of solar and wind projects under development that reaches 10.9 GW.
The Company wants to continue growing and is pursuing a vertical integration down the value chain, from project development to plant operation, in line with one of the pillars of its strategic plan to 2025.

Since its commencement, the Company has positioned as a benchmark in the sector, and proof of this are the long-term agreements it has with Macquarie, with whom it owns a 50% development platform, Nara Solar, for the markets of Spain, France and Holland, which has a portfolio of solar photovoltaic projects of more than 2.5 GW. The signing of another Joint Venture between Macquarie and Univergy for the Japanese market, Hinode Energy, was recently announced. It started with an initial 200 MW portfolio in Japan.
