The purchase of second hand in Spain either a piece of clothing or even some technological device has been considered as something shabby, but currently, ecological awareness, as well as inflation, are transforming the mentality of people, who are launched to buy used products
This new reality has led to the creation of the Spanish Association of Second Hand (AESEMA). Founded on June 2, 2020 and composed of the main retailers and digital platforms for buying and selling second-hand items in our country (Milanuncios, Cash-Converters, CeX, Game and Wallapop).
During the last year, 7 out of 10 Spaniards have bought and sold second-hand objects representing an enormous contribution to the environment. This practice allows to avoid the production of a new product and reduce CO2 emissions, one of the main greenhouse gases and one of the major problems in the fight against climate change.
Some of the advantages of buying second-hand are:
- – Know the product better: sometimes and due to compulsive purchases, we end up buying new products that have little travel in the market and that do not really go as expected. With the purchase of second hand to take a while the product in the market you have more information about this.
- – Support the local economy: buying second-hand brings benefits to the local economy, allowing people to continue selling them and motivating them to get an extra from those items that are no longer being used.
- – Help the environment: more and more governments and people are aware that we have a problem with climate change. By purchasing second-hand items, we contribute to curbing this problem.
Second-hand buying and selling is a good decision that has a profound impact on the environment, reducing waste and conserving resources, promoting a circular economy, supporting local communities and raising awareness about sustainability.
