Since we started our activity, we have experienced significant growth and we are committed to clean energy in this territory. Currently, Univergy Kenya has a pipeline of approximately 26 MWp in industrial self-consumption projects.
According to the latest Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) Economic Survey, Kenya is on track to be 100% renewable. In 2020, geothermal will lead production with 44%, followed by hydro with 36%. Wind stood at 11%, then thermal at 7%, followed by utility-scale solar and other sources at 1% each.
The African continent is driving a green energy revolution, which will gradually spread to all countries until 100% renewable energy is produced.
Univergy Solar currently has a business portfolio of close to 18 GW in more than 109 solar energy projects around the world, with a presence on the African continent in seven countries, including Namibia, South Africa, Togo, Senegal, Guinea Conakry, Algeria and Kenya.
