Photovoltaics is the direct conversion of solar radiation into electricity. This transformation takes place in devices called photovoltaic panels. It was in the 1950s, at the height of the space race, that photovoltaic panels began to undergo significant development.

The main purpose of the grid-connected solar photovoltaic system is to generate clean electricity, as well as having a variety of advantages:

  • Savings on electricity bills.
  • Reduction of the carbon footprint.
  • Increased site value.
  • Return on investment.
  • Low maintenance costs.
  • Support for environmental and sustainability programmes.
  • Social recognition and corporate image.
  • Support and recognition from administrations and institutions.

Since our inception, Univergy Solar has developed and managed the construction of more than 156 solar photovoltaic plants in 14 countries. Our group is currently active in Bangladesh, Vietnam, Taiwan, South Korea, Australia, Colombia, Mexico, Argentina, Peru, Chile, Uruguay, Nigeria, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Togo, Kenya, the Netherlands, Spain, France and Italy, where we have a total project portfolio of more than 10 GW.
