Univergy Solar together with its local partner Proesmin is also developing another 80 MW in four PPAs in different locations

Madrid, Tacna (Peru), January 30, 2020.- The Spanish-Japanese company Univergy Solar, together with its local partner Proesmin, is developing a 700 MW Solar Park in the town of Tacna in Peru. In addition, Univergy develops another four solar projects in PPAs in the towns of Loreto, Iquitos and Sta. María de Nanay for more than 80 MW. It has also bid eight solar projects in four cities (Lima (2), Arequipa (2), Ica (3) and Piura) for solar projects reaching another 23 MW.

Ignacio Blanco, Executive President and CEO of UNIVERGY Solar, has outlined the importance of these projects, indicating that “Peru is a market with enormous potential for the development of clean energy, which makes it a strategic country for Univergy, through the development of a series of projects that add up to more than 800 MW in its entirety, fulfilling once again the development expectations of the company in Latin America, since it will be the seventh country in the region where Univergy is established”.

Univergy, for a year has been actively working with its local partner Proesmin in the development of projects under the modalities of PPA, solutions for self-consumption and hybrid projects; agreements have been signed to start 6 new projects in the Amazonian regions of Loreto and Iquitos; and active work is being done to offer generation solutions through Photovoltaic Solar energy to mining companies and industries, as well as in the Sama project for a 700MW Solar Plant in Tacna.

Univergy has photovoltaic solar energy projects in the region, in addition to Peru, in Mexico, Panama, Colombia, Argentina, Chile and Brazil in which it develops projects for more than 2GW of power. With the new establishment in Peru, Univergy consolidates itself as one of the reference developers in the Latin American markets.
